Cinderella & More Exploring

This weekend was wonderful!

Friday night we chaperoned the middle school dance.
Middle schoolers are crazy. I started the night out on dress code duty and Matt stopped all the crazy piggy backers, ha. We like chaperoning. Matt told me he can't wait to chaperone when our kids are in school and I told him that's not happening. I want our kids to like us at least a little bit ; )

Yesterday was my Father-in-Law's birthday and we went out to dinner as a family to one of our favorite local restaurants, Coho Cafe. We had yummy salmon, steak and drinks and then headed into the city to see Cinderella (which we thought was awesome!) 5th Avenue Theater was beautiful, we had never been. I love Seattle at Christmas-time!

(before we left for dinner and the show)

(our Christmas tree is shorter than us so we couldn't get it in the picture no matter how hard we tried)

(there's the birthday boy in the background trying to 'photo bomb' us...nice try ninja! lol)

(the theater was so cool)

We all had a great time at dinner and the show and then went back to Matt's parents' for cake & ice cream. It was a great day. We are very thankful that they took us to dinner and the show. I loved being in the theater, man do I miss being on stage.

Today was another fabulous day. We both slept in until 11:00am which never happens. I sleep that late probably 2 or 3 times/week, but Matt always gets woken up by something by 7 or 8 at the latest. (kids outside, Cogsy, accidentally forgetting to turn off the alarm, etc.) So...anyways, we slept in late. It was awesome. We got ready and out the door by noon and headed out to do some more exploring. We went to Maple Valley first. Neither of us had ever been and we both fell in love. We loved the feeling of community there and the homes were beautiful. The views of Mt. Rainier were outstanding everywhere you were. Some homes in our price range even had a view. Incredible. We did our research when we got home and it turns out they are rated a 9 for their schools. (I would have been happy with 6 or 7 so that was an added bonus). We love Covington too and would be equally as happy there. It is so nice how both towns have so much to offer. We are both very happy and excited about our journey to owning a home. Today we were brave and even went into 4 model homes (we've never done that before) and spoke with two representatives from the builders about the homes in some subdivisions we really liked. We went to Wal-Mart again because we don't have one and it feels like Hartford to me.

When we got home we did some fun budget talk to figure out a realistic timeline. We were pleased.
I'm not blogging that because I do not want to be held to that. It will happen when it does :)

We also were excited because we finally got to watch "Good Luck Charlie Christmas!" It aired on Friday and we missed it because of the dance so Matt discovered it was on again tonight so we made sure to be home in time, hehe.

I hope this week goes fast! My mom gets here in 4 days!! Wahoo!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
