Calm Before the Storm

I soaked up every calm minute of today.
I took in every second knowing in the back of my mind all the things I should be doing for work.

I pushed it all away and just enjoyed the day.
At the end of the day, they are just dance classes.
Life will go on if I don't answer emails on a Sunday.

(I did spend the morning interviewing a new teacher)...but after, the day was all ours!
We went to Ikea to walk around scoping out fun new things for the studio (gah..that's kind of working) and for our apartment. We had lunch there too. Mmm I love Ikea's food lol. Matt's not the biggest fan, so it was a treat that he agreed to eat there. The Almond Cake is my fav-or-ite! I downed it :) Matt didn't even ask for a bite because he knows it's my favorite. I offered...he just let me enjoy.

After Ikea, we took a stroll around Target and got the things we needed for dinner.
We tried a new Pinterest recipe tonight and cooked together. I love when we do that!
It was Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken with a Soy Honey Garlic sauce. We made egg noodles, zucchini and mushrooms to go with it. So so yum and Matt has leftovers for 2 days now :) I am now enjoying a glass of wine...mmmm and we're watching football. Feels like fall. My favorite.

This morning I also tried out another Pinterest DIY. Writing on mugs with a Sharpie and baking them. Turned out so cool!

Tomorrow I start an in-sane week. 20 classes for the week.
I've never taught that many. I've maxed out at 18.
One of my instructors is really sick so I have to take her classes.

I'm only a little worried. I have gotten some great candidates this weekend that I have phone interviewed already and that I can't wait to meet. My goal is that by the end of October I'm only teaching 15 classes/week. Next quarter...10! No matter what! Maybe less :)

Today Matt also got "What to Expect When You're Expecting" for me from Redbox and I watched it already. I plan on watching it again before I go to bed too. I LOVE that movie! I was cracking up and bawling and then cracking up again :)

I'm going to enjoy the rest of my wine now...

Whistler Family Vacation 2012 - Part 2

Sunday was another fun day with the whole family. All 11 of us!

We took the gondola back up and everyone went on Peak to Peak again. Matt and I stayed back and chilled on the mountain because we thought they were doing glass bottom. They ended up doing the regular one, but we had a nice time chillin' on top :)

Beautiful!

After we got back down, we had a family lunch at Longhorn which is at the base.
Then we walked around the shops a little bit with everyone before Chris & Megan headed out.
Mel & Clint stayed one more night and we played games until like 1:30am. We played Mexican Train, Bullshit & we had an epic game of Uno that was never ending. I was falling asleep in my chair. It was fun though :)

Then Monday morning Mel & Clint left before we even woke up and it was just the four of us left for the week.

We ate here a few times. Everything was $4.95. Everthing. Yum.

Monday morning Marie and I worked for a while until like 1:00pm and then we took a walk together. I think that this is the night we went to the movies too. We went to see "Trouble with the Curve". It was pretty cute.

On Tuesday we went to Pemberton and ate at the yummiest little cafe for lunch called The Pony. We had  to take a picture here since Matt loves trains so much.

After lunch we hiked up to Nairn Falls. It was such a beautiful hike! The water was an amazing color and the falls were awesome. So curvy and weird. I loved it.

We found a little path to walk down to the water. I just had to take my shoes off and step in. The water was so clear and it was just calling my name. It. Was. Freezing! Brrrrr!!! We found cool egg looking rocks though :) And got cool pictures.

On Wednesday, Marie and I went to the Scandinave Spa. *sigh* I could live there. We had massages and then went in all the mineral baths which are like pool sized hot tubs (theres a cold one too) and then read while chillin' in hammocks looking out at the mountains for a while. So amazing!

I am getting my days mixed up now, but this was on our walk to Lost Lake.

This was on our way home :(

I love being married to my best friend :) It's like a sleepover party everyday...only better :)

That was our amazing trip. Such a relaxing and fun week. I can't wait to go back again!

Whistler Family Vacation 2012 - Part 1

We just returned yesterday from another week-long vacation, this time to another beautiful place...Whistler, B.C.
We drove up on Friday, September 21st with Matt's Mom & Dad. Chris, Megan and the kids followed. We took our time getting up there and made our first real stop in Vancouver, B.C at Go Fish. This was the yummiest fish and chips we have ever had. Mom & Dad (Matt's parents...I am not writing Mother in Law/Father in Law out anymore...sounds yucky and detached and they are not yucky and detached) had been talking this place up for a long time now and we were not let down. Yum Yum!

Our next pit stop was to take a small little hike/walk to see Shannon Falls. It was beautiful.

Third stop...Wendy's. In our family, it is "The" Wendy's. Matt and Chris once had an epic fight here...as you can see...things are better now :)

We've arrived...let Nana out! hehe, I love this one :)

Cows Ice Cream, YUM!!

Mom & Dad Lanese's condo is right in the village :) Pretty dang cool!

******Realizing there are going to be a bajillion pictures, it was just so much fun!*******

On the gondola headed up to Peak to Peak.

Super brave...we did it! We went on Peak to Peak. Even though for years we said we would NEVER go on it. We surprised ourselves a lot this weekend.

Feeling just a little nervous dangling 6,000 feet above ground between 2 mountain peaks...

See in the background...yeah, those would be clouds!

Jamaican Bobsled Team...Cool Runnings! ; )

Then later, that same brave, brave day...we went zip lining!

Marie bought us frame magnets for our fridges that say "The Wild Bunch". Yes..we are! : )

View from the top of one of our zips. SO awesome.

Celebratory shots for all of our bravery!

Later that night, us siblings went out to dinner and Nana and Papa babysat the kiddos because it was Clint's 30th Birthday!

Then we headed to the Irish Pub for drinks. I had a few too many and Mom was cracking up when we got back and walked in. Then Matt, Megan, Chris & I were being silly for a while before going to bed. Clare was still awake (it was like midnight) and it was pretty funny. Ha..I just loved that day so so much! Definitely a favorite Lanese Family memory. I can't wait for a million more days like that!

Fun sibling time!

The Newlyweds :)

I love this picture of them :)

I'm going to continue this post on another page..I don't want these to get too long that they don't download well. I still need to finish uploading all of our Alaska Cruise photos as well. Matt's watching the Cal game and I just got done teaching. I have a bunch more work to do this weekend but I really want to get all caught up here.
