Mel's Birthday & Other Stuff.

I meant to blog about this on Sunday night...but then, I decided to do my taxes...and then I couldn't stop...until now. It took for-ever. My fault, I failed at being as organized as I would have liked. A lot more organized than 2010 though so that's good!
(Owning a business makes doing taxes super hard and obnoxious)

Annyyways.
On Sunday we celebrated Mel's Birthday! Matt's parents, and Mel & Clint came over to watch the 49ers game and celebrate {Mel's birthday and unfortunately not the 49ers}.
Matt's parents brought over Round Table for Mel, Papa Johns for us and peanut butter chocolate cake from Cold Stone (yum! I just ate some that I found in the freezer for dinner, yes, for dinner--long day). I love having family over. I wish my family lived closer so we could have them over for dinner sometimes too!!

Cogsy loves when we have company! He wanted everyone to play with him. Notice: all his toys in a pile behind him. He took them all out of his basket one at a time and would place them in front of people waiting for it to get thrown. Ha, and they say pugs don't play fetch...He's just the cutest little guy!

 I was going to post our weekly menu today as a post and then Matt and I made our menu plan...it's probably the most unhealthy week we've ever had but we are super busy this week.
...for your entertainment---here it is...

Tuesday (Matt has school until 10 and I stay here working) --- Kraft with Hot Dogs! Ha
Wednesday --- Zeek's Pizza with Chris & Katie
Thursday (Matt has school until 10) --- Stuffed Shells that I froze last time I made them
Friday --- Soy Sauce Chicken w/ rice & broccoli
Saturday --- my dance mom friends are coming over again so Subway party platter, yum!
Sunday --- We're heading to Poulsbo, WA for the day to do some exploring so...eating out probably at McDonalds or something lol.
Monday --- Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and garlic bread

My sister-in-law, Megan, says I could write a book on cheap meals.
Matt and I used to spend just $30-$50/week on food. We ate like crap, but we had to and it worked : )
Maybe I will write a blog post about our awesome cheapy recipes though...Yes, I will...right now...you'll see it tomorrow!

Okay, that's it, no more blabbing on about stuff.
I hope everyone's having a good week!

Tis the Season to be FReeZing!

Today was productive.
For being "off" from work I sure did work a lot today. I think everyone forgets that there's a lot more to my job than just going to class to dance everyday. Lots of fun business stuff today...

But, we had a super fun night with Mel & Clint!
We went to Zoo Lights at Point Defiance Zoo for the first time.
The lights were so much fun to look at, even as a grown up. There were even some animals out to see which was neat. Cute little meerkats, some penguins, I fed some goats lol, a tiger and lots of fish.
We really liked it and though it may not be a new tradition, it will definitely be fun to do again.

I took some pictures but they don't do it justice...

{I would definitely like to go to this zoo during the day, maybe this summer}

{How long do we get to be called "the Newlyweds" ??}

{the soon-to-be's} :)

{I made this hat in the car on the way there lol}
{$1 well spent! Ha. Feeding the goat I mean.}

{this little guy was doing a creepy tongue thing lol}

{the reason Matt won't swim in open water}

After we went to Applebee's. Fun night! I like when we double date with them. :)

Pig Luck 2011

Matt and I had a great day with Mel and Clint over in his neck of the woods...literally. His Dad and Stepmom's home is so beautiful and it was neat to learn that Clint built it with his Dad (good to know, huh Mel!) They live on a crazy amount of land with a barn (which reminded me some of our wedding because of the hanging lights) and even some animals....alive and --sad little piggy-- dead. We also got to go over to Clint's house to hang out with them for a while and it was great to finally see where he lives and to know where, in less than a year now, Mel will live as well :) It was also fun to meet Cogsy Wogsy's cousin, Chloe! I think her paws may be as big as his head? It's going to be so fun when they get to play. As soon as Cogsy is over his terrible Kennel Cough we'll for sure set up their play date.

Check out this awesome bathroom sink. Such a cool idea to install the sink on to a table like this.

The happy couple : ) We can't wait for their wedding!

My husband is a stud. Just sayin'...

It was fun seeing the animals, I kept saying that our niece Clare would love it there!

At my Aunt Julie's farm in Minnesota, Matt and I got a picture with a donkey...so we definitely needed one with the pig.

I felt so sad for the piggy. If he only knew we were eating his friend...so so sad.

Then we got to meet Miss Chloe! She is like a big cuddly Cogsy. Instead of reading her expression through her eyes and eyebrows like Cogsy she moves her ears around...so cute! They will definitely be the best of cousins. I loved her :)

We had a wonderful day, and...I got Mel hooked on Pinterest. My new found love. The boys went to get pizza and we sat next to each other on the boys iPads in silence just mesmerized by our Pinterests lol.  Good day.
