Our Masterpiece

At our wedding, we had an incredibly talented artist who painted a scene from our special day! This is something we would have never been able to have done if it weren't for the artist giving it to us as a gift. My make-up artist contacted me a few days before our wedding saying her sister is an artist and wants to start painting weddings. She told me she was looking to build a portfolio so was doing a few weddings for free. I of course did not want to pass this up. I feel so blessed that she did this for us! Her name is Stephanie Broker, here is her website.

Here she is painting our ceremony...I never even noticed she was there and we all walked right passed her. My uncle took this photo of her painting. I think it's amazing that she began painting it right there!

Today was the big day...I got to meet her at a Starbucks in Kirkland and pick up our painting. I was in such shock and cried. It is so amazing I didn't know what to say or how to thank her enough. Matt and I are trying to decide what we would like to give her as a thank will never be able to match this gift she has given us. After hanging it today we were both just looking at it and Matt said, "this is going to be so neat to have with our kids, it's something they'll always remember being in our home." Then of course I added, "grandkids too!"

After receiving the painting I called my mother-in-law right away because her work is close to where I was. She told me I could stop in and show her. All the ladies at her work were "ooing" and "aahing" over it. It was fun :) I can't wait until my mom gets here to see it, too! it is! Our first piece of art. This is so incredibly special. As my dad said, "A treasure."

We decided we want it above our fireplace. I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Happy Thursday, everyone!
